Definitely Not for Little Ones
Written by Rotraut Susanne Berner
Publication Date September 01, 2009
This is a delightfully witty, slightly scary re-telling of some of the most famous Grimm fairy tales, which is sure to make them accessible to even the most reluctant reader (and everyone else). The irreverent humor in this great illustrator's pictures are a perfect way of bringing these stories to the contemporary child. The characters live in a kind of fairy-tale land, but there is nothing old-fashioned about them.
Stories include The Frog Prince, Mother Holle, Tom Thumb, Rapunzel, Jorinda and Jorindel, Lucky Hans, Hans the Hedgehog, and Little Red Cap.
