Father’s Day: Sarah MacLachlan picks books for Rachel Bokhout’s weird dad
Last week we asked you to send in your weird dad stories. It was a tight contest, but Sarah MacLachlan chose her favourite dad story, and has selected books she thinks that Rachel’s dad will love.

My dad keeps any plastic wrap he comes across, cleans it, and adds it to a large ball of plastic wrap that he keeps behind one of the sheds on my parents’ farm. He says he’s saving it for after peak oil, because he’ll be able to turn it back into petroleum and it will be worth significant money. There are a lot of things about this venture that I give the side-eye to (how does he think he’ll turn it into petroleum? can you really adequately clean used plastic wrap?), but whatever, it’s a harmless if bizarre hobby, and hey, there’s a small but nonzero chance that he’s right.

Here’s the original request, and Sarah’s own weird dad story.
