Lisa Moore on the radio: 30th anniversary of the Ocean Ranger disaster
In 1982, the oil rig Ocean Ranger sank off the coast of Newfoundland during a Valentine’s Day storm. All eighty-four men aboard died. Lisa Moore’s latest novel, February, is the story of Helen O’Mara, one of those left behind when her husband, Cal, drowns on the rig. This moving book was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize and named a Book of the Year by the Globe and Mail.
Tomorrow morning Lisa Moore will be on CBC Radio One’s The Current with Anna Maria Tremonti, reading from February. This thirty-minute segment will also include an interview with Susan Dodd, author of The Ocean Ranger.
For those of you who can’t tune in tomorrow morning, we will post the link to the podcast version of the segment here tomorrow.
