Sterling Road Reads: Steve Himel from Henderson

Welcome to Sterling Road Reads, a new series where we feature book recommendations from our neighbours on Sterling Road! First up is Steve Himel from Henderson Brewing Co. Steve is a big reader and a great friend to us here at Anansi. He co-hosts our Beers and Books series and is always eager to share his thoughts on what he's reading now.

Steve Himel reads The Man Who Saved Henry Morgan

"This book is a masterpiece of storytelling, is a bucket of fun and a real page turner to boot."

I read a lot and have had the luxury of reading a number of Anansi books since they moved in beside us. I was going to write about another book altogether when I read Robert Hough’s man Who saved Henry Morgan. This book is a masterpiece of storytelling, is a bucket of fun and a real page turner to boot. I sat down on a Saturday morning this fall to start the book and before I knew it the weekend was over and so was the book. It’s a complete story with well developed characters. Hough’s use of language brings the environment to life and makes the book feel very cinematic. I can see myself picking this one up again, but not before I dive a bit deeper into his catalogue.

Thanks to Steve Himel for his recommendation! Check out our Beers and Books event on October 17th at Henderson Brewing Co, featuring Robert Hough!
