Thrifty tips for the New Year + Thrifty clothing swap
In honour of one of our newest books — Thrifty by Marjorie Harris — we’ll be posting a thrifty tip from the book every day for the next few weeks. We’ll be mixing it up with thrifty tips from our staff and readers, so get those thrifty tips coming! What are the little things you do to save money? Feel free to post your thrifty tips in the comments or email them to me (trish [at] anansi.ca) and I’ll share ’em here and on Twitter.
Thrifty tip #1: Organize your home and office. If you know what you have, you’re less likely to accidentally buy it again!
THRIFTY CLOTHING SWAP
Bring your old, gently-worn, and clean clothes, shoes, and accessories (no swimwear or lingerie, please) to Dancemakers, where we will sort and organize them. Swappers will then pay $5 for entry to the swap, where you can browse and try on the clothes, meet Marjorie Harris, and take home whatever clothing you like. A great, truly thrifty way to boost a wardrobe. Any leftover clothing will be donated to women’s shelters.
Presented by Anansi, Thrifty: Living the Frugal Life with Style by Marjorie Harris, and Dancemakers.
